Nils Loewen is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Würzburg, Germany. Clinically, he is specialized in glaucoma and cataract care and microincisional glaucoma procedures that are bleb-free. He has comprehensive experience with ab interno trabeculectomy (Trabectome, TrabEx) and published extensively on factors and outcomes. In his basic research, his laboratory is focused on bioengineering of the ocular outflow system with a particular interest in the distal outflow tract.
